The Audlem Canal & River Trust midweek evening Towpath Taskforce event took place on Wednesday 4th May.

A mild evening of mixed work centreing around visual improvements.

The work completed:

  • Refresh of the paint work on Lock 14 balance beams.
  • Removed 65m of mud from the towpath surface restoring a level flat surface and removing complaints at and below Lock 14.
  • Painted the no fishing sign adjacent to Bridge 78.
  • Painted 3 of mooring totem post in the village pound.
  • Painted the mooring totem post next to Lock 14.
  • Painted the 'Welcome to Audlem' sign in the village pound It was also nice to see the donated tulips and the recently sown wild flowers in growth adding a splash of colour to the garden opposite Lock 13, this is part of the longer term plan to 'put the sparkle' back into the canal-side in Audlem with visual and environmental improvements.
