By the wonders of modern communications, AudlemOnline has received photos and brief updates from Charlotte Guerin from Costa Rica.
As regular readers will know, Charlotte is currently cycling over 500km 'Coast to Coast' across the Central American republic of Costa Rica.
Tropical downpours, high humidity and temperatures and some very tough cycling are all taking their toll as Charlotte writes: "Currently sat in the World's Hottest Tent – up at 4.30am to tackle 11 hours of cycling.
Our top photo: Charlotte's quote : "Lunchtime with a view. Feeling Broken, 6 hours done another 5 hours to go."
Charlotte's quote at the end of Day 2 of the 7-day expedition was: "Magnificent fall performed by myself on the technical down hill... after 11 hours in the saddle."
Day 3 saw a tropical storm and Charlotte said: "Photo taken about 30 mins ago and a Tropical storm to start the day.
Charlotte's quote for yesterday: "Today's cycling conditions...rain. This really is a test of stamina and endurance."
Charlotte's sponsor letter was published on AudlemOnline in November last year which explained that, along with 33 of her colleagues from Lloyds Banking Group, she will be cycling 'Coast to Coast' across Costa Rica in 7 days to raise over £140,000 for the Alzheimer's Society.
The money raised will go towards funding the first national support programme for people living with dementia and their carers. This pioneering campaign led by Alzheimer's Society and Alzheimer Scotland will provide life-changing support for people living with dementia, their families and carers.
Her Just Giving page can be read here.
Charlotte has already raised personally over £4,000 but wants to raise even more. As she says: "So dig deep people...you don't really need that extra pint or Monday morning coffee (I'm thinking of your health).
Much Love'
Charlotte x
