To Sing

I wrote this poem, inspired by hearing Renee Fleming sing a piece from her new recording 'Distant Light' on 'Breakfast' on TV, then hearing 'Bailero' from 'Songs of the Auvergne' on Classic FM then finding a youtube video of Renee Fleming singing this piece.
The poem was also inspired by being a member of Audlem Voices and taking part in a Nantwich Choral Society's 'Come and Sing' day at St. Mary's Church, Nantwich, on Saturday, 7th January, where I joined 200 other voices, orchestra and soloists in an evening performance of Handel's 'Messiah'.
