t.a.v.a. is delighted to present following smash-hit after sell-out runs at The Edinburgh Festival and Off-Broadway:

Every Brilliant Thing

A Paines Plough & Pentabus Theatre Company production.

  • "Powerfully, stunningly, joyfully uplifting – you'll be rushing off to start your own list too." (The Skinny)
  • "...a delightful production: superbly acted in a knockout space. Go see it if you can" Bouquets and Brickbats
  • "Touching, uplifting and laugh out loud funny..." EdFestMag
  • "Heart-wrenching, hilarious... possibly one of the funniest plays you'll ever see, full stop." The Guardian
  • "Filled to the brim with joy... beautiful, heart wrenching and very funny." Time Out
  • "I defy anyone not to laugh & cry." Whatsonstage

You're six years old. Mum's in hospital. Dad says she's done something stupid. She's finding it hard. You start to make a list of everything that's brilliant about the world. Everything that's worth living for:

1. Ice Cream
2. King Fu Movies
3. Burning Things
4. Laughing so hard you shoot milk out your nose
5. Construction Cranes
6. Me

You leave it on her pillow. You know she's read it because she's corrected your spelling. Soon, the list will take on a life of its own.
A new play about depression and the lengths we will go to for those we love.
Based on true and untrue stories.

By Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe. More information at www.painesplough.com
