Swallows arrive in Audlem

Yesterday, 30th March, two swallows were seen in the area, one at Hankelow over Brookfield Golf Course, and the second in the fields near to the canal by Moss Hall. These sighting are relatively early as two competitive swallow watchers in the village haven't spotted one yet, while another enthusiast says that they normally arrive around 9th April.

While it has been a relatively mild week in Audlem, the question inevitably arises – how did the swallows know the weather was going to be kind to them when they left southern Africa weeks ago?

If anyone has seen a swallow locally earlier than yesterday, please let the webteam know.
