Because of holidays, we have been unable to give you the normal 1st XI match reports for the last two matches, so here is a summary of them.

v Wilmslow – 18th JuneThe 1st XI travelled to Wilmslow for the match sponsored by Audlem Physiotherapy Clinic and came away with a draw. Skipper Chris Shenton lost the toss and the home skipper elected to bat – a decision which proved to be right. All Wilmslow's first five batsmen scored double figures as they kept the scorers busy. Russ Herriot top-scored with 68 as Wilmslow were bowled out for 209. Kemal Toraman took 5 for 56, with Stuart Elkes and Oli Burney both taking two wickets.

Audlem's reply was delayed by rain, which changed the state of the wicket. Andy Capper (16), Andy Rothwell (31) and Qhama Matthews had put Audlem in a strong position at 94 for 2, but when Rothwell was out, a mini-collapse changed the complexion of the game. Wilmslow took five wickets for just 17 runs, leaving Audlem on 111 for 7. Matthews had scored 24 when he was fifth-man out. Shenton (32 not out) and Tom Measures (11 not out) saw the remaining overs out as Audlem reached 150 for 7. Audlem gained 9 points and Wilmslow 14.

v Didsbury – 25th JuneLast Saturday the 1st XI got back to winning ways with a 48-run victory over DIdsbury at the Gorse Croft, in a match again sponsored by Audlem Physiotherapy Clinic. Skipper Neil Humphries lost the toss and Didsbury decided to bowl first. Andy Capper (19) and Oli Burney (16) put on 48 for the first wicket. Tom Measures (39 not out), Kemal Toraman (34), Shenton (25) and Humphries (11) kept the scoreboard ticking over until Humphries declared at 203 for 7.

Spinners Lyndon Woodcock and Humphries were the star bowlers for Audlem as the visitors chased the target. Woodcock took 4 for 41 and Humphries 3 for 38. Burney chipped in with 2 for 21 as Didsbury were bowled out for 155.

Audlem gained 25 points and Didsbury 7. As a result the two teams swopped places, with Audlem moving up to 5th place in Division 2.

Tomorrow the 1st XI travel to third-place Saughall. Once again the match ball is sponsored by Audlem Physiotherapy Clinic.
