Last weekend was a double header for the 1st XI, playing at Heaton Mersey Village in the league on Saturday and at home to Kerridge in the knockout cup on Sunday.

Saturday's league game ended in a draw. Audlem won the toss, batted first and scored 211 for 9 declared. Qhama Matthews and Rich Wilson both scored half-centuries, Matthews with 57 and Wilson 50. HMV's reply was 176 for 7, with Stuart Elkes taking 3 for 40 and Oliver Burney 2 for 12. The match ball was sponsored by the Lower Chequer pub at Sandbach. Audlem gained 14 points and HMV 9. As a result the 1st XI dropped one place in Division 2 to sixth.

Today's 1st XI match is at the Gorse Croft, when next-to-bottom Mossley are the visitors. The match, which is sponsored by Tyrepriceadvisor.co.uk, starts at 2.00 pm.

On Sunday, the 1st XI welcomed fellow-Division 2 side Kerridge to the Gorse Croft for the 2nd Round Knockout Cup match. Kerridge won the toss and decided to bat. This proved to be a big mistake as, 25 overs later, the whole team had returned to the pavilion with just 50 runs on the scoreboard. All four of Audlem's bowlers took wickets – Elkes 3 for 11, Burney 3 for 12, Neil Humphries 2 for 6 and Kemal Toraman 2 for 16. Openers Andy Rothwell (21) and Andy Capper (11), with the help of 19 extras, knocked off the runs in the 14th over as Audlem won by 10 wickets to progress to the last eight.
