With life returning to near normality, it's time to say a few thank yous. To ADAS and their volunteers for providing the fabulous large Christmas tree in the Square and the forty plus trees around the village centre. Also to ADAS, ASET and Audlem Parish Council for the superb fireworks display at midnight to see in the New Year. The St James' bell ringers also played a big part in creating a wonderful New Year atmosphere. That was helped by PC Ken Maple and his colleague who lent a re-assuring presence at midnight while dealing with the New Year revellers with considerable humour.
Thanks also to all the Audlem businesses who provided festive shop windows throughout the season. And finally, a thank you for everyone's generosity at the Carol singing in the Square. The ADAS collection was the best ever at £540, close on double last year – and the Scout Hall committee made a clear £180 with their mince pies & mulled wine offer at the Scout Hall. A record for them too.
