With apologies for publishing the first Father Christmas story of 2007 in mid-November but it appears that Santa has got well and truly stuck in the village. While checking out the chimney at the Canal Shop on Audlem Wharf, he has apparently come down the mill's old grain hopper by mistake. His boots and pants have emerged and are there for all to see but nobody knows how to push him back up the wooden hopper. And there seems to be no way he'll be able to get down any further through the narrow base of the ancient hopper.
If you of a practical bent, and are passing the Mill, do look in and see if you can come up with a solution. If he can be released, a lot of children all over the world will be very grateful.
