Royal Mail problems?

Is anyone else suffering with delayed delivery of mail since the switch from Crewe sorting office to Warrington?

I have just contacted Royal Mail customer services only to be told that 1st class and 2nd class mail delivery times are only guidelines.

I then asked if they have any system in place to lnvestigate this problem. I was subsequently told "no", they do not and they would not be taking the matter any further as the delivery time for standard mail is only a guide.

I went on to say that if that is the case there is no point in posting any mail 1st class at an extra cost, it might as well be posted 2nd class at a lesser cost.

I have had mail take 5, 7 and 10 days to arrive, first class stamped, posted in Nantwich and Crewe. In fact I have recently posted an item to Australia which took less time to arrive.

Perhaps the power of Audlem Online visitors may make this talking point into something more constructive and if enough people complain, we may get a positive result!

Royal Mail customer services contact number is 08457 740 740 for anyone wishing to bring delayed mail to their attention.

Can I just express that in no way do I think that the problem stems from our local postys, who do a marvelous job in all weathers as the problem of my delayed mail coincided with the closure of Crewe sorting office.
