This weekend sees the best ever RNLI/Overwater Marina Festival, which is the largest Event in South Cheshire as a fund raiser for the RNLI. All profits will be donated to The Flint RLNI Station.

Saturday 3rd September starts off the weekend's excitement with a Boatshare Event. From 10am until around noon there will be volunteer crewe members of the Flint Lifeboat Station to meet and talk to the public about their many experiences over the years in their role as life-savers many of you will most likely have seen some of the recent excellent TV footage recording such work these RNLI volunteers do. Don't forget to ask the Flint volunteers about the Weir at Chester!?

There will be Raffles with many tempting prizes to be won. Saturday evening's entertainment begins at 5.30 with a BBQ, a bar, floral demonstrations, stalls, a performance by Daystar when they entertain us with the premier of their latest waterways comedy; to be followed by Geoff Rey giving us the classic sounds of Motown soul music to get us on our feet and dancing.

The fun continues on Sunday 4th September with a Donkey Derby at 11am where you can have a flutter on the Tote, and children can have a ride on a donkey after the racing is over.

At 2.30 there will be a Dog Show run by Steve Leonard, and, at 3.30, a display by The Whitchurch Dog Display Team -- there should be in excess of twenty dogs in this display.

Other attractions include Face painting, Cheshire Cat boat trips around the marina, Wheelyboat trips, hot food, Cream Teas, Snugburys Ice Cream, plus the usual stalls and refreshments. This must be one of the best value weekends around as there is no entrance fee, just a one-off car park donation for RNLI funds.
