Retired Councillor Mike Hill presentation

At the Parish Council meeting on Monday 6th November Mike Hill was honoured for his longstanding service to the community on the Parish Council.

In a statement at his presentation Cllr. Heather Jones said :

"Your achievements throughout your more than 30 years service are too many to list in full. I know that for you the de-priming of the A525 was a key issue.

You have also been involved in both Parish Plans and the devolution of the public conveniences to the Parish Council. You have been our representative on the ADAS Committee, worked tirelessly on Highways matters in the village.........I could go on and on.

When we asked you what you would like to mark your long service on the Parish Council, rather than ask for a personal gift for your own enjoyment you asked for a donation to ADAS in memory of Mike Haines. Your colleagues on the Council were happy to agree with this request. They also felt that your generous gesture should be matched with an equivalent donation to ADAS specifically in memory of Mike Haines. Over the years Mike did such a lot to ensure that Audlem won Awards but – even more importantly contributed to making Audlem such an attractive place to live and visit.

The cheque recognises your own huge contribution to the community over many years and also that of the much missed Mike Haines."
