Audlem Youth Club is set to relaunch over the next couple of months and the starting point is to seek out a good sized team of volunteers to help get it off the ground and established.

Next Tuesday's meeting is an opportunity, for anyone who has the mildest interest, to come along and find out more about how, when, where and who.

A lot of those questions we don't have answers to as yet because the club will be shaped by the volunteers and the young people who become involved. An example of this is the name.

A new name for the Youth Club

It won't be called Audlem Youth Club in the future, the 'does what it says on the tin' name is there until young people appropriate it for themselves and give it a new identity, as befits its reborn status.

Informal meeting

It is important to stress that the meeting is very informal and there will be absolutely no pressure to become involved just because you have attended.

We have invited Anne Marie from the Youth Federation and Mandi from Cheshire East Youth Service who will give some information about how they plan to support the new club going forward.

The Youth Federation will be delivering 8/10 weeks of accredited training to all volunteers. This may be of particular interest to some of the over 16s in the village who might be wanting to put some fat on the bones of a CV in the near future.

So please come along......

The meeting is at 8pm on Tuesday 24th February in the meeting room at the Baptist Chapel. We think there will be a tea and biscuit scenario going down! However, until we see the room for ourselves tomorrow night I haven't got a clue what the facilities are like!

Naturally there will be talk of the Village Hall extension and outline thoughts about meeting times and dates but, in the main, we want to draw from those attending so that we can move forward to the next stage which is creating an event for young people that will effectively be the official relaunch.
