August has been a record breaking month for AudlemOnline with 54,073 visitors to the village website, beating our previous best by more than 3,000.

Readers have also clicked on a record number of pages this month with over 117,675 hits on our news, information and gallery pages.

The volunteer Webteam thanks you all for your huge interest and support which has helped to make it all worthwhile, especially through August – the notorious "silly season" for news media with so many away on holiday and relatively little going on.

Controversial planning applications may not have been welcome in the village but they have surely helped push up our readership and the welcome contributions from so many of you has also made a huge difference.

Of course we always need suggestions and ideas for improvements to the site and we are very keen to hear from any of our readers who have news, views or opinions on anything of local interest.

If you hear or see something that interests you then it will surely interest other readers too so please tell us about it at editor@audlem.org

We do try to make the site more appealing to visitors and extra features added recently have included the front page 'ticker tape' carousel highlighting the latest additions to the site and the news page listings of the most popular stories and features. A team has been working hard on a new History section which is now well advanced and will be made public shortly.

Geeky readers who like to check out the website statistics through the link at the bottom of the home page will see the total pages read this year has now passed the 800,000 mark putting us on course to hit one million before the year is out.
