Further to my colleague's news item on 29th December about Storm Arwen damage at Bickerton see here, the footpaths further along on the Sandstone Ridge around Raw Head have been obstructed by fallen trees, again presumably caused by Storm Arwen.
Although it is possible to clamber over or around the obstructions, the damage to trees is significant and concerning, as so many have been blown over. It must have been quite dangerous to be in the area at the time.
A number of trees have been simply uprooted revealing that, in spite of their height, they had very shallow root systems clinging to the sandstone rocks.
The footpath here has completely disappeared, necessitating clambering down behind and around the root system
