Bickerton NT Storm Arwen Damage
Not far from Audlem, the National Trust at Bickerton is a popular walking area for many Audlemites.
Audlem may have experienced some trees and branches falling during that storm, but nothing approaching the scale of damage on the Bickerton Hills.
The photos show a small part of the havoc caused by Storm Arwen, with the wind direction clearly from the north.
Even more impressive is that all footpaths appear to have been cleared by persons with chainsaws – whether these were funded by the National Trust or Cheshire East is not known.
But thank goodness funding did not have to wait for years prior to action!
