Public toilets – a view

On Sunday morning I was at the Public Hall at 8.30am delivering items for the Hospice Lunch.

I was amazed by the number of people who, seeing the Public Hall door open, came to visit the loo. I pointed out the notice on the door but this did not deter some people who waited until I had picked up another box and then scuttled in.

I observed that a lot of the people had come in cars and were either passing through the village or taking part in an activity in the Village.

With all the work which is being undertaken in the village to make it the place to visit and increase its sustainability, shouldn't the main priority be to provide public loos which work and are not unpleasant to use – there are some excellent examples springing up all over Shropshire.

Before long, I'm sure we will be hearing that Audlem has an entry in the Bad Loo Guide – if there is such a publication – and visitors will be driving straight through – justifiably
