A charity golf day organised by local company Joseph Heler Cheese, has raised more than £6,500 for the Domino's Kidney Research Foundation. More than 100 people and 23 teams were at Brookfield Golf Club in Hankelow for the fiercely competitive event.

Once the golf was over, there was a charity raffle and auction of promises overseen by John Baker of Baker Wynne Wilson.

Mike Heler, the managing director of Joseph Heler Cheeese said: "We are delighted with the amount we have raised. I would like to say a big thank-you to everyone who took part in the competition and everyone who gave so generously in the auction."
