Pothole causes serious damage

Travelling down the A525 (Woore Road just outside Buerton) on 23rd January at 11.00pm, not only did the pothole we hit take out our fillings but it also ripped off a good chunk from the underside of our new car which now has an appointment with the garage for repairs.

Admittedly having reported this hole the next day, it was repaired within 24 hours but at present we have a bill to pay.

Hope the attached photos show the width, length and depth of our misery!

(Editor adds: David and Sarah have sent a number of photographs showing the damage to their car and the size of the pothole from various angles.

The most noticeable thing is that the pothole is just where the road has been previously patched. It makes you wonder if all the recent work is only covering up the poor state of local roads for a very short period.

The result of little regular maintenance is continuous patching-up costs after cold spells. Unfortunately, it also produces the kind of costs David and Sarah now face to repair a new car. And that's on top of the motoring, national and council taxes they've already paid for decent roads.)
