Police are warning all residents in South Cheshire to be on the lookout for a wanted man.

Ronald Anderson is a convicted sex offender wanted after failing to comply to prison release licence conditions.

Police fear he is a risk to children and Cheshire Police say a number of inquiries are ongoing to trace him.

The 53-year-old (pictured) was jailed in 2008 for a minimum of five years for sexual offences against children.

He was released in May 2013 on licence conditions that required him not to have contact with children under the age of 16, and to live at a fixed address in the Sandbach area.

But the alarm was raised when he failed to return to this address on September 15. Anderson had been to visit a family member in the Norwich area before he disappeared.

Anderson is described as white, 5ft 11in, medium build, short grey hair, blue eyes, grey goatee beard, glasses and a North West accent and he has tattoos on both arms.

On his left lower forearm he has the name PAUL with a large black spider's web above.

On the outside of his right forearm he has a snake wrapped around a knife and on the inside of his forearm he has a dragon.

Anderson is considered a risk to children he has contact with and anyone with any information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 101.

Update 28th September: Angela Youds writes – "The police are no longer looking for the missing sex offender, Ronald Anderson, as reported on the web site yesterday. I can only assume they have now found him!"
