My Fleet

Let me tell you about my "Fleet"
Of ships that pass in the night.

I've been here at Elmhurst now
For nearly two weeks
And those ships are my friends -
Friends here with me.

These include, without a doubt
My "care arm fleet" (not fleet air arm)
They have been at my beck and call
Friendly, attentive, positive and gentle
To them I give my thanks.

But I must not forget those "unforseen ships"
Those who turn the wheels, oil the machines,
Heal our bodies and minds -
Together they make Elmhurst what it is.

My memories will be my treasure,
Memories to keep, of my "fleet"
Whenever a wave rocks my boat
I will look at my ships memory log book and remember.

I am sorry if these words don't rhyme -
I just haven't got the time -
Too busy chatting, of course!!!
