A plumbing world record in Audlem?

Yesterday, Audlem plumber Pete Webb received a mobile phone call asking him if he could fix a plumbing problem at a house in the centre of the village. According to the very happy customer, Pete arrived just 45 seconds later – and went on to fix the problem. Given that most parts of the country would be happy with 45 minutes for a plumbing emergency, and rumour has it that for London the response rate could be 45 days, Pete's express service could well constitute a world record.

As Pete explained, he was just returning from a job when the call came in. When the phone rang, he pulled off the road to take the call and found he was only 100 metres from the house in question. It may all have fallen beautifully into place, but by any standards it was fantastic service.
