Following reports of continuing difficulties posting planning application comments about the Mill Lane proposed development on the Cheshire East website, AudlemOnline has asked the council this morning to extend the deadline from tomorrow, Wednesday, to allow local people more time to express their views.

Emails and Chatbox comments show a number of people, including very IT-literate individuals, have not been able to post comments on-line or, even if they think their comment has been accepted, it has not yet appeared amongst the list published by Cheshire East.

With the meeting to consider the planning application being put back a month, and the requirement being that a 'minimum' of 21 days be given for public consultation, it would seem more than reasonable for Cheshire East to extend the deadline.

So far, very few comments have been published despite around a hundred people turning out for the Extraordinary Parish Council meeting on 22nd August and as much public interest in the Mill Lane application as the Gladman Little Heath one which attracted 150 local comments on the Cheshire East planning website.
