Picnic in the Hall last night was a great success, a packed hall with picnics breaking out all over as everyone entered in to the spirit of the evening. As the lights lowered, the superbly lit stage delivered a venue far removed from a Public Hall.

First up, Hello Big World as they reunited to launch the return of this talented duo.

Despite a few technical difficulties and the notorious acoustics of the Public Hall, the unique vocal sounds mixed with the ukeleles really started to cut through as they played tracks from the Lions & Pandas EP launched last year, mixed in with some newly penned tracks and covers.

It was a top return gig for Aimee Neville & Elly Kingdon – more to follow with their next release 'Fighting the good fight'.

Blue Café then took to the stage, a much awaited return to a full set from this local band on home turf.

Opening with one for Rupert Murdoch, 'Headline News', led the way through some classic Blue Café tracks. They mixed the classics with some newly penned material from across the band with 'I'll be seeing you' as the encore to a full two hour set.

By all accounts a good night was had by all!
