We've had a message sent in by a local resident – they have provided their name – regarding their concerns about vehicles parking in the centre of Audlem:
Parking in the village is difficult as we all know and will get worse with the forthcoming new houses.
However, there are an increasing number of people who park across and in the entrance to the Fire Station when visiting the Co-Op and block it completely or at best partially.
This would prevent the Firefighters getting access to their appliances and therefore endangering the safety or lives of victims of fires or accidents.
This act is totally selfish, lazy and unthinking and is an offence.
I will start taking down numbers and sending them to the Police and hope that others will do the same; maybe a prosecution or two will wake people up and stop this happening.
At the same time it reduces the passing areas in the village for traffic going in both directions to pass safely and so ends up with the village gridlocked which is what happened earlier this evening.
