This message has been included in the newsletter to all families this week:

Earlier this week our waste disposal collection could not take place due to a car obstructing access to school along Heathfield Road. This was during the school day and may well have been someone visiting school who parked on the road, making the space too narrow for a large bin lorry to pass. Whilst this was inconvenient for school, the more concerning issue was that it highlights, quite clearly, the difficulties emergency vehicles would have attending school or any residents on Heathfield Road when cars are parked irresponsibly.

I have highlighted this matter to the Police who have advised that any car blocking access can be removed for obstruction and have also advised that they will intend to issue tickets to drivers as part of their patrols in this area.

Both PCSO Nick Jarvis and I feel this is also something which needs to be drawn to the attention of the wider Audlem community so we can all work together to keep access routes clear for both school and local residents.

The photograph was sent to school by our waste collectors (with the number plate obscured) to show the nature of the blockage. We have advised the waste collection company that they are to contact the Police directly if they are blocked in this way again.
