Audlem Parish Council yesterday took up residents' concerns that they had been unable to record their views about the Mill Lane/Heathfield Road planning application on the Cheshire East website.

Chairman Phillip Johnson requested that Cheshire East grant an extension of 7 days to allow residents to get their comments recorded before the end of the official deadline.

The following email has been received today from Philippa Cockroft, the Case Officer for the planning application.

"Dear Mr Johnson

I apologise for the problems that have been encountered with the website. It was tested by staff yesterday and appeared to be working and was accepting comments on line. However; we will extend the online comments period by 7 days as you requested."

"In addition, although the online comments box closes at the end of the consultation period, representations can still be submitted to the Council will be accepted and taken into account in the determination of the application up until the day that Committee considers the application."

"I trust that this addresses your concerns, however if you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me."
