Parish Council meets this evening

Audlem Parish Council meets this evening at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall. As always, members of the public can raise issues in the Public Forum at the start of the meeting.

Under Planning & Development, the PC will discuss its response to both Gladman applications at Little Heath (albeit they are very similar in reality) and a Neighbourhood Plan, a topic that attracted much discussion at Friday's planning meeting in the Public Hall with MP Stephen O'Brien and Cheshire East councillor Rachel Bailey.

The Playing Field project is also on the Agenda where the council has been considering taking over responsibility for the playing field, tennis courts, children's playground and possibly the public car park.

Superfast broadband is also up for discussion but whether the Parish Council has any further information on a project that is hardly forthcoming with updates and news of progress is questionable. Hopefully, there will be some indications of where and when the roll-out will be.

As AudlemOnline reported yesterday, villages in Cheshire East have yet to learn when their high speed broadband roll-out will begin and there has been no official announcement of when Connecting Cheshire will get started or who will be first in line.

The latest story on the roll-out to be uploaded to the Connecting Cheshire website was five months ago, the announcement on 3rd June of how Cheshire got off to a 'Superfast Start' with its £28.5 million project. Since then, virtually nothing, except a hint at a Cheshire East cabinet meeting that one area will get a welcome Christmas present.
