Osprey in Hunsterson

My daughter, who lives in the Lake District, recently visited the Osprey Centre near Keswick.

Much to her amazement, she spotted that one of last year's chicks had roosted overnight in a wood in Hunsterson, just north of Audlem, on its migration south in August last year. As these birds will only roost once (maybe twice) in England on their way to West Africa, the choice is rather remarkable.

A lady at the Osprey centre called me the other day to ask if I knew where the wood was and to share their excitement at now being able to track the migration using a transmitter and Google Earth.
