Old People's fair at Tattenhall

APHRA BRANDRETH MP WILL HOLD AN OLDER PEOPLE’S FAIR IN TATTENHALL, NOV 1

Aphra Brandreth, Member of Parliament for Chester South and Eddisbury, will host her first ‘Older People’s Fair’ on 1st November at the Barbour Institute in Tattenhall between 12:00-15:00.

On November 1st Aphra Brandreth MP will hold an ‘Older People’s Fair’ at the Barbour Institute in Tattenhall, alongside over twenty charities, community support groups, local authority teams, emergency services, NHS representatives and more.

The fair provides an opportunity for older people in Chester South and Eddisbury to meet with stakeholders who can assist and advise them on a variety of subjects from digital banking skills to fire prevention.

Aphra Brandreth, Member of Parliament for Chester South and Eddisbury, looks forward to the fair, saying:

“I am very grateful to the charities, community groups and public services who are coming together to provide older constituents in Chester South and Eddisbury with a fantastic opportunity to get help and advice at the Barbour Institute on the 1st November. There is a great deal of support available to help older people through the winter and beyond, improving their quality of life and ensuring they have the skills to adapt to technology such as digital banking.

“Many constituents have contacted me to raise concerns regarding the Government’s decision to drop the Winter Fuel Payment and I know how much of an impact this will have for older people in Chester South and Eddisbury. I am glad that both Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire East Council have agreed to attend to offer advice and support alongside Citizen’s Advice and local housing associations.

“I am also delighted that organisations such as Older People Active Lives and the Rotary Club will be attending. Groups like these offer the chance for older people to play an active role in the community and help tackle social issues such as loneliness and mental health problems.
