A book of calculating tables printed in 1785 has been found tucked away in a crack between roof beams in an old cottage in Audlem. The inscription is John Harrison, Audlem, Cheshire 1805.
The name Sarah is also written in the front of the book and in 1802 John Harrison from Prees married Sarah Owen of Audlem in Audlem church. They baptised 4 children in the next ten years-John, James, Thomas and Jane.
There is a baptism in Prees for a John Harrison in 1784 son of Thomas and Mary. I have not yet found the family in the 1841 census but will have a go.
The book is in poorish condition, many of the pages having been nibbled.
We wondered if Nantwich museum would be interested. The History Society does not wish to keep original objects and apart from the owner in 1805
there is no Cheshire connection with the contents which would interest the County Record Office.
