Saturday 13th December
Tony Crowther is leading this walk from Lee Brockhurst next Saturday prior to our Christmas Dinner that evening in the Lord Combermere
He writes:-
This is a Long ARS walk, length about 8 miles,
We meet at Audlem Car Park 8.45am to Leave at 9.00am and drive 17miles to Lee Brockhurst war memorial just off the A49 8miles South of Whitchurch (Grid Ref SJ 548268)
From the small free car park by the Memorial we will walk towards Lee Brockhurst village along a quiet lane before turning off along farm and ancient tracks to cross the busy A49 then climb up to Weston Heath through the woods.
We then turn back towards Weston Heath Coppice skirting New House Farm and on across fields to Moston Farm.
Quiet lanes then take us towards Stanton before turning across fields and more woods to Papermill Bank with great views along the way. We then drop down to the river Roden through an ancient bridleway before the final short ascent alongside Besford Wood to return to the start point.
This is A THREE BOOTER with only one short steep uphill climb with undulating terrain throughout and varied lanes, tracks and fields
We will be back in the village by 3pm to allow plenty of time for the evening preparations.
Please bring your own lunch, carrots for Rupert The Reindeer and mince pies for The Leader LOLS
KIND REGARDS
Rupert
