Starting at 7.30pm we will rattle through our AGM-the committee is remarkably stable and the record for an AGM is set at 10 minutes! Then we will have our cup of tea while things are arranged for the illustrated talk by yours truly.
Entitled 'What do we know of the history of Audlem' this is intended to enlighten newcomers' to Audlem or just its history, by running through:
The Society was founded in 1980 and we have had 8 talks a year since then but our members keep changing as new people arrive so many have missed these basic well known background items. I was there from the beginning and so have accumulated this knowledge but I make no claim to be a proper historian and will do my best. Whether I stop around 1750 or get to 1800 depends on timing, I am not going to get to the present day!
There will be a display of books on the history of Audlem, many of which are out of print, and photocopies of documents held in the Chester Record Office like apprenticeship papers.
Last chance for members to book their Christmas lunch and see next years programme.
Visitors £3, students free
7.30pm Scout and Guide Hall Thursday 16th
