News on injured footballer

The player who sustained a broken shin bone in the Boxing Day football match had a 4-hour operation to pin the bone together. He hopes to be discharged today and is looking forward to a delayed celebratory drink with the team at The Lord C.

We called for an ambulance but then I was called back by the despatcher to tell me that air ambulance had been sent. It was not our choice as there was no life threatening situation.
