Congratulations also go to Caitlin Burton , Daisy Poole, Harlie Jewell and Abbey Peacock who are our new Librarians. They all wrote detailed letters to me outlining why they would be perfect for this important job in our school and both Mrs Heathcock and I have been tremendously impressed with their attitude to their role so far. Keep it up!
This year we will be awarding our new Attendance Cup to the class with the best attendance each week. Our first winners of this trophy are Sapphire and Pearl classes who were awarded with the cup as part of Praise Assembly today. I am sure they will have it in pride of place in their classrooms all week – well done!
Active Audlem began well this week and despite a couple of rainy days interrupting progress, I have been really pleased to see so many of our children across school collecting their laps! Well done to the Year 6 children who have been helping to run this activity at break times and lunchtimes.
Reminder – Mr Warburton will be in school on Wednesday 18th September to judge the plants. Please ensure each plant is clearly labelled with your child's name and year group when they bring them in on this day. Any photographs, diaries or stories can also be brought in on that day. If your plant is too big to transport please bring in your photos and measurements so you can share your growing success!! Mr Warburton will return to school on Thursday 19th to present prizes.
We would like to politely remind parents not to park on pavements outside school at the beginning and end of the school day. Please consider our local residents and pedestrians at this time.
One of the many ways FASA raises money for school is through the use of the Rag Bag Bin (situated near our main school gates). If you have any old clothes, shoes or covers that you are happy to donate, please bag them up and put them into the bin. Thank you.
Many thanks to all of the volunteers who have returned slips about helping out in school. We will be allocating volunteers to classes next week. Please return your slip as soon as possible if you are interested in getting involved with this aspect of school life.
We would still like to add one more person to our Mid Day team, if you are interested in this role within school please contact the school office for an application form.
Don't forget our Scholastic Book Fair will begin on Thursday 19th September . We
will run the fair after school in the school hall every evening from 3.30 – 4.00pm. The last evening of the book fair will be Wednesday the 25th September. Every child
who attends the fair will get a Free Kid's Day Out voucher and the more books you buy the more books we can get for our school library.
Our New Classes Open Evening is next Thursday (19th), I hope many of you will be able to take this opportunity to find out about your child's learning and classroom for this year. Class teachers and I will be available to answer any questions or queries you may have and I look forward to seeing many of you throughout the evening.
