Parish Councillors were delighted to learn that their suggestions for street names at the new Anwyl development have recently been agreed by Cheshire East Council. The three streets are to be called Marshall Drive, McKelvey Way and Ropewalk Close.

Charles Marshall, who lived in Armstrong Close, was a very long serving Parish Councillor and keen local historian.

Derek McKelvey also served for many years on the Parish Council and will be well known to residents as part of the long-established family business – Williams of Audlem.

Ropewalk Close was proposed as the area between Little Heath and Corbrook was once a rope making area, as explained on page 8 of the article that can be accessed by clicking here.

It is good to know that these names are to be recognised and perpetuated in the new development.
