ADAS (Audlem District Amenities Society) report that for the past two weeks Ralph Warburton and Bill Consterdine have been replacing all 40 or so Christmas tree brackets affixed on houses, shops and pubs in the village with new larger ones. These are needed as the size of the trunks on the Christmas trees that ADAS buys is now bigger. The work has been painstaking, with wet and cold winds at times, as many of the old bolts and screws resisted efforts to undo them. But the job is now just about there in readiness for the installation of the 40 trees and their white pea lights over the weekend of the 3rd & 4th December.
The next move is to test and make good all the electrical connections before then and also to see if ADAS can obtain permission from other property owners to place a tree on their house or building.
