More jobs could be in the pipeline for people in Audlem as finishing touches are put on a new butter plant.

Work is almost finished on a £17m butter making plant being built at Muller Wiseman Dairies in Market Drayton.

It will be the biggest butter making factory in Britain and should provide 100 jobs.

The go-ahead for the project was given earlier this year with a projected opening this autumn.

The project is nearing completion and the butter plant is currently being fitted out with equipment.

The dairy firm has remodelled the existing bottling department with a two-storey extension and 14 new silos to create the butter plant.

Once in production it is expected to use 90,000 tons of cream each year to make 45,000 tons of butter, making it the biggest butter making factory in the UK.
