We could not attend the village meeting on Thursday last regarding the proposed housing development near the bowling green but thought somebody might be interested in these pictures taken at the end of last year of the mill race going under the other Mill lane ( off the Whitchurch road, down by the Weaver ).

This torrent, normally a quiet narrow flow, shows the effect of extra water in the brook which flows from where the new proposed building would take place, probably about a mile upstream. They might just perhaps add a bit of extra weight to the arguments against the development.

  • A consultant's report commission by developer Hockenhull Properties Ltd claims a 'low' risk of flooding on the site and that their own detailed modelling shows the proposed development should not be affected by fluvial flooding during a one in 100 year flooding event. The lack of any recent data for the site from United Utilities has prompted Audlem Parish councillors to let Cheshire East Council have any anecdotal evidence of flooding or storm damage in the Salford Bridge and Audlem Brook areas.
