'In response to Monday's item regarding the planning application at Little Heath and the Audlem Parish Council open meeting about this proposed development The Cornovii Trust (the multi academy trust responsible for Audlem and Brine Leas schools) and Audlem Primary school would like to make it clear that such a development would not put 'pressure on the school'.
The school is currently 50 children below capacity, which equates to approx £250,000 per year in lost revenue and so could easily absorb any primary aged children that would arise from any housing developments in the area. The forecast pupil numbers going forward over the next few years remain low and so there is no pressure on Audlem Primary in terms of school places/capacity now or in the future.
This point was made clear to representatives from Audlem Parish Council when they met with Mr Perry (Headteacher) and Mr Middlebrook (CEO of The Cornovii Trust) recently. The school and trust are very happy to continue discussions with the Parish Council to work together to support the school and Audlem community.'
