AudlemOnline has been receiving a number of complaints that people have been having difficulties putting their comments about the Mill Lane development on the Cheshire East website.

These issues were reported to Cheshire East last week and we were told that the problem had been sorted. Unfortunately, the problems have continued with either comments not being accepted after people had typed them out while others are concerned that while their comment appears to have been accepted, they have not appeared on the planning site.

Given that the deadline for comments is tomorrow, Wednesday, and the hearing by the council has been put back a month, there must be a strong case for extending the deadline for comments.

There are concerns that a relatively small number of comments have appeared so far given the degree of interest in this application – around a hundred people turned out for a public meeting. There were around 150 comments submitted for the current Gladman application at Little Heath and we would guess as many people are interested in the Mill Lane proposal. Yet only 14 comments had been published on Mill Lane application this morning.

Is this down to Cheshire East website problems we wonder. Indeed, have some people given up because of the difficulties or have some of their comments simply disappeared. At the very least, confidence in the system has been put in question.
