The drive to reach the target of £100,000 set last July by Teri and Hannah Cliffe to save Berni continues.

I banked yesterday £815 to the Mend our Mum account. It was made up of sales of DVDs, donations and raffle proceeds. All from Braids, The Village Chippy, JA's cafe, Audlem Post Office, Williams' Newsagents and Ann Jones of Windmill Drive – including the wonderful £520 raised by the 5 A's Panto Raffle!

We are getting ever closer to the target figure and we have been advised that the BBC would like to re-visit Audlem when that day dawns.

A reminder too of the magnificent effort undertaken by Ian Haughey of the Music Festival team – having his locks shaved off OR kept.

It all hangs in the balance with the big decision being made at 8.00pm tonight in the Lord Combermere – just prior to a wonderful performance by Jim Kirkpatrick.

A great night in prospect for all – and a great input of close to £1300 to Mend our Mum.
