Just in case you missed last night's breaking story on AudlemOnline, we are repeating it again this morning:
The largest housing development in Audlem for a generation is being put forward for public consultation. Detailed proposals will be displayed at a Public Exhibition being held at Audlem Public Hall on 9th April between 4.00pm and 7.00pm.
The developers, Gladman Developments of Congleton, will also be distributing a leaflet to households over the coming days describing how the site at Little Heath could include up to 120 homes, a play area and allotments.
Please click on the plan to the right to see the scale and location of the proposed houses.
Clearly, there will be a wide range of views about this development. Gladman have given to only Tuesday April 2nd for residents' initial comments – although they say any comments received after this date will still be considered – and we will be publishing Chatbox comments on AudlemOnline.
The Gladman leaflet includes the following:
This initial consultation provides the community with their first opportunity to comment on and help shape the housing proposals. As well as seeking your views we are currently contacting a number of organisations and groups.
Please aim to submit your comments on the initial leaflet by 2nd April 2013. Whilst this date is not a firm deadline, the sooner we receive comments the longer we have to consider them.
Any comments received after this date will still be considered.
The next stage will involve the preparation of more detailed proposals, including an indicative master plan. These will be displayed at the Public Exhibition being held at Audlem Public Hall on 9th April between 4.00pm and 7.00pm.
Once an application has been submitted, you will of course be able to make formal representations to Cheshire East Council, who will take these into account before making their decision.
You can keep up to date on progress using the dedicated website by clicking here which provides further information and includes an online feedback form for making comments.
For those interested in keeping up-to-date with Gladman developments we have created a special Gladman index in the newsroom. You access it by clicking the Gladman banner on the homepage. To go there now click here.
