A farmer wants the go-ahead to build four luxury holiday cabins on a farm near Hatherton.

A an application has been lodged for full planning permission to erect four oak-framed cabins at Chapel Farm, off Audlem Road.

A design statement to Cheshire East Council says the mixed-use farm already offers short-tern rental holiday properties and the new cabins would be set well back from the main A529 Nantwich to Audlem road.

It says the long-established farm has recently looked to diversify in order to subsidise its income with disused sheds converted to storage units.

"The applicant is now looking to further the diversification of the farm in order to sustain its long term future, by adding a number of sustainable holiday cabins," adds the statement.

The proposed cabins would have excellent views over open countryside but with no disturbance or impact on the farm or neighbouring properties, planners have been told.

Each holiday cabin would be two storeys high with two bedrooms, sitting room, kitchen and dining area with one cabin especially adapted for disabled occupants.

"The general appearance of the units will be sympathetic to the rural scene, being of oak framing and timber weatherboarding," says the report.

The application will be decided by a planning officer under delegated authority with a decision target date of December 2nd.
