The October Long ARS (Audlem Ramblers Societry) walk is from Pistyll Rhaeadr this coming Saturday, 10th October.

It's a 4 booter of 9 miles with climbs totalling 2296 feet. Leave Audlem car ark at 8.00am.

Jean Stainthorpe is leading this walk and says: "We start from the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall, the highest waterfall in Wales, taking us up one side of the river valley on to the Berwyn ridge and back down the other side with magnificent views in all directions if the weather is kind to us.

"Starting out from the foot of the falls we walk through the woods to commence a two mile long ascent to Moel Sych. It is steep in parts and was very boggy in places on our most recent recce.

"We then enjoy a ridge walk via Cadair Berwyn to Cadair Bronwen. We return along the ridge dropping down via a craggy path above Llyn Lluncaws. This will need extra care due to its close proximity to the crag edge. We return to Pistyll Rhaeadr following the track down the opposite side of the valley."

Car parking is at the Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfall and is £3; toilets and tea room.
