Saturday 9th June

Peter Kay is leading the Long ARS walk on Saturday – meet on Audlem Car Park to leave at 8.30 am.

The walk starts from the Cattle Market in Bishops Castle where there are toilets. It is a typical Border Country ramble with several climbs but none too steep. There is one steep descent through a wood. It uses a mixture of field and woodland paths, tracks and minor roads. The Shropshire Way is used initially and there is one short stretch along an impressive section of Offa's Dyke.

Length 10 miles. Height gain 1700ft. Start time from Audlem Town Hall car park 8.30 am.

Ed – no idea if the picture shows the right bit of Offa's Dyke, but it looks pretty impressive.

NB All walkers must have suitable footwear and be prepared for adverse weather, carry food and water to last for the entire walk and be suitably fit for the various lengths of walk.

Each walk is led by a nominated leader who will carry some first-aid equipment. The leader has the right to refuse to include in a group anyone who is felt not be adequately equipped.

Non-members of ARS are welcome to come on a walk but are expected to join ARS and pay the membership fee after a trial walk or two.
