September has come,
Yes it has to be said,
That the schools have returned,
No more sleeping in bed.
Yes our parents I'm sure,
Will be feeling a grin,
It will stretch without notice,
From cheek through to chin.
When that school bell has rung,
And we all shuffle through,
The halls now seem smaller,
Then the last year or two.
The teachers seem cheerful,
But wait till we start,
They'll soon wonder why
Summer had to depart.
The lessons are harder,
Then previous years,
I've seen other classmates,
Give in to their fears.
But I will be brave,
For there's no need to stress,
Listen and learn,
Revise and address.
I'll never forget,
That hard work is rewarded,
My parents may grin,
But a ship they've now boarded.
For a look of "But mum
I've been trying so hard"
Will soon put a tasty
new treat on the cards.
And when that bell rings,
They'll soon walk past Lllovely,
And I'll smile in the hopes,
That it gets me a Snugbury's.
For as much as the summer,
may have come to an end,
And the schools have returned,
I've now started a trend.
Listen and Learn,
Revise and address,
Think of the rewards,
Be the best of the best.
And my parents will ponder,
On this transformation,
My enthusiastic rise,
Through the years education.
But little they know,
That my will has been mended,
By the thought of a treat,
When the hard day has ended.
And we'll all share a grin,
When the term is complete,
And my grades are acknowledged,
With another Lllovely treat!!
