June may have gone out with a bang with the superb Proms on the Park, but July promises to be a busy month in Audlem with major events throughout the month.

First off, starting on this coming Friday 4th July, and running through the weekend, is the Flower Festival at the Methodist Church. Flower arrangements on the theme 'to everything there is a season' will adorn the church. In the Seville Room, there will be an audio-visual display depicting life in a village church at the beginning of the twenty-first century. In the hall, refreshments will be available at all times. These will include hot breakfast baps at mealtimes, along with lots of tempting home-baking.

On the Saturday evening (5th July) an organ recital is being given in memory of the late John Crompton by his brother Peter. Peter Crompton is Director of Music at The Royal Hospital School, Ipswich, and is an accomplished recitalist. Proceeds from the organ recital will go towards Leukaemia Research.

Saturday 5th July sees the Audlem School Summer Fair at the School from 11am to 2 pm. The event includes an attempt to break the world record for re-assembling a Ferguson tractor from its constituent parts. Do come and enjoy the event and watch another attempt to get Audlem firmly onto the world stage!

The weekend of 19th and 20th July sees Fun-ky weekend, the award winning event for the young and young at heart with a full programme of entertainment. Watch out for details as the month progresses.

Finally, Sunday 27th July is Audlem Festival of Transport day with a cavalcade of some 150 classic cars from 1910 to today, including military vehicles, motor cycles and commercials. A highlight will be a fabulous aerial display by the RAF Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. There's a hog roast, fairground rides and much else on the playing fields plus all the vehicles to be inspected. It's a great day out in Audlem.
