This Saturday, our curate in the benefice of Audlem, Wybunbury and Doddington, Jules Walker, will be ordained priest at Chester Cathedral.

This event is the completion of a year of training in the benefice whilst serving as a deacon. For those unfamiliar with the workings of the Church of England, after training at a theological college, a candidate is made Deacon and continues with on-the-job-training for a further year before ordination.

During that year, as Jules has done, the deacon will undertake a number of the tasks fulfilled by an ordained minister but not all. Once ordained priest, Jules will be able to preside at Holy Communion services and pronounce the blessing at services such as Weddings.

Much of the day to day pastoral work Jules has already begun, as well as involvement
in church and community groups. She will continue to gain practical experience during the rest of her time with us as curate under Helen's, our vicar, oversight.

Over the year we have had the joy of getting to know Jules and her family and benefiting from her own unique qualities, insights and faith.

I know our best wishes and prayers are with her as she prepares for this very special moment in her life.
