This very amiable Irish man pulled in a good audience at The Lord C on Sunday evening. His song writing a mix of raw emotions and humour, accompanied by a guitar style that is percussive and drives along a rhythm that punctuates the lyrics.
A distinctive vocal presence is delivered with an expressive performance that leaves you in no doubt of the feelings behind the song.
A man who is at ease with his craft engaging the audience in banter and above all the stories of his life to date. A soul laid bare. A man who can know his audience and play to their amusement and bringing them in to partaking in the set. A strong following here in Audlem joining in on a few of his numbers.
From Market Drayton Lydia O'Dowd has a quite a following and with good reason. Looking ever the part, a singer songwriter of some note from the brief interludes between a very varied covers set.
Lydia really set the the evening up well, engaging the appreciative audience who clearly would have wanted two or three more songs. Leave them wanting more......
The whole evening was being recorded live on film and sound which added a new dimension, creating a 'studio' set in The Lord C.
